Taxonomy for Independent Living Used to Classify Clothing Research

Audrey Newton

Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design, University of Nebraska, Lincoln, NE 58583-0802

An investigation of research on clothing for special needs was made to test Bloom's domain taxonomy as a system of classification. The author used theses and dissertations from 1966 to 1980 to classify objectives of research. The results have implications for research direction and are a model which could provide a means of interrelating all areas of independent living.
