Those Crazy Lichen2004 ITAA Excellence in Draping AwardUniversity of Delaware, Newark Beginning with a blank canvas of white silk organza, the author's design goals were to transform this fabric through dyeing and surface embellishment into a variety of textile designs to be used in crazy quilting. Crazy quilting techniques and surface design methods were researched. Connections to nature are expressed through the use of natural dyes. The resulting garment is a strapless dress draped on the bias featuring a front cowl drape, crazy quilting on the bodice, and two layers of organza over an underskirt with a crazy quilted lower band.
